Ben A. Tillman

Ben A. Tillman, 86, of Alpharetta, GA, died July 26, 2007.

The funeral service will be held at 3:30 p.m. Sunday, July 29th, at Crowell Brothers Peachtree Chapel Funeral Home in Norcross.

Interment will follow at Peachtree Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Sunday from 2:30 p.m. until time of the service at the funeral home.

Mr. Tillman, was born in Memphis, TN, was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran of W.W. II and retired from Oklahoma Natural Gas Company, regulating the gas at the well heads for Western Oklahoma. He was a member of the American Legion Post #54 in Chickasha, OK. He graduated from Chickasha High School where he lettered in football. He attended the University of Oklahoma on a football scholarship. He enjoyed bowling and golf.

He is survived by his wife, Lucy Tillman of Alpharetta, GA; daughter and son-in-law, Jackie and Steve Webb of Duluth, GA; and two grandchildren, Travis (Roxanne) Webb of Athens, GA and Todd (Lexie) Webb of Charleston, SC; two great-grandsons, Jake Webb of Parkville, MO and Evan Webb of Athens, GA; numerous nieces and nephews.
