Wilma Lou (Miller) Thompson

December 2, 1934 ~ December 24, 2014

Funeral services for Wilma Lou Thompson, 80, of Gainesville, Texas, were held at 2 p.m. Monday, December 29 at the Geo. J. Carroll and Son Funeral Home, Gainesville, with Reverend Larry Kremling officiating. Burial followed in the Fairview Cemetery, Gainesville.

Wilma was born December 2, 1934, in Lebanon to Harley and Avna Amelia McPherson Miller. She died on Wednesday, December 24, 2014, at Gainesville.

Wilma married Jay Thompson on April 15, 1955, in Gainesville, and he preceded her in death on March 5, 1988.

She is survived by her daughter, Sandra Brewer of Gainesville; a son, Alan Thompson and wife Mary of Gainesville; grandchildren, John Alan Thompson and wife Natasha, Stephen Brewer and wife Regina, Fredrick Thompson and wife DeAnna, Chelsea Brewer and Justin Thompson; eight great-grandchildren; sisters, Jimalea McGee, Harlene King, Betty Barnes, Sue Miller and Ann Cason; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and brothers, B.H. Miller and Doug Miller.
