J. W. "Jay" Thompson

Sept. 3, 1921 ~ Feb. 24, 2004

Services for J. W. "Jay" Thompson, 82, of Burbank will be held Monday, Mar. 1st at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel at Pierce Bros. Valhalla Mortuary in No. Hollywood. Burial will follow in the Valhalla Cemetery. Mr. Thompson died Tuesday, Feb. 24, 2004 at Kaiser Hospital in Los Angeles. Mr. Thompson was born Sept. 3, 1921 in Oklahoma and moved to California in 1950 with his wife and daughter.

He married Ruth Elizabeth Thompson in 1944 while on leave from the Army. She preceded him in death May 5, 1994. The couple had one daughter, Jeanie Ruth who died in 1971 and one granddaughter, Kim Johnson, who they raised.

Survivors include Kim Johnson, his grandson-in-law, Jim Johnson, two great grandchildren, Lindsay and Dylan and a sister, Mrs. Billie June Gee who resides in Rush Springs, OK.

He will be greatly missed by all.
