A Memorial Service for Jana Kaye Thompson will be held at Palmer Marler Funeral Home Chapel in Cushing on Tuesday, June 2, 2026, at 2:00 p.m.
It is with heartfelt sorrow that we remember and celebrate the life of a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and dear friend. She married Charles Retherford in August 1989, she shared a lifelong bond with him, a friendship that nurtured their family through the years.
She was a passionate supporter of OU football, a lover of beach vacations and traveling, and found great joy in motorcycle rides. Yet, nothing brought her more happiness than spending precious moments with her grandchildren—Grace, Ashton, Madison, and Brooklee—and cheering them on during their sports activities. Her warmth extended beyond family to many dear friends whose lives she deeply touched.
Surrounded by loved ones including her daughter Miranda and son-in-law Cody Magnus, son Camran Retherford, sister Tania Runnels, brother Jerry Mackey and his wife Tina, Aunt Karen and Uncle Mike Wilson, and cousins Dale Brassfield, Gina Brassfield, Reggie Gaskins, and Lacie Gaskins, her spirit remains with all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her father, Charles Wilson II, her mother Carolyn Mackey, stepfather Donald R. Mackey, and her cherished friends Charles Retherford and Randy Thompson.
We would like to give a special "Thank You" to the friends that helped Jana all the way to the end. Crystal Hayter, Kristen Kwiecien, and Lacie Gaskins.
In remembering her, we celebrate a life full of love, laughter, and boundless devotion to family and friends. Her legacy of kindness and joy will forever light our hearts.
