Donna Jean (Powell) Thompson
October 19, 1946 ~ September 12, 2025

Donna Jean Thompson, passed peacefully on September 12, 2025, at the age of 78. Donna lived a life filled with compassion, creativity, and dedication to both healing and the arts.

Born in Pryor, OK on October 19, 1946, Donna devoted much of her career to caring for others as a registered nurse, touching countless lives with her gentle spirit and professional expertise. Her commitment to lifelong learning was evident when she earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from OU in 1997, followed by her Master of Science in Teaching in 2006 from OSU, achievements that reflected her belief in the power of knowledge and growth at any stage of life.

Beyond her nursing career, Donna was a gifted artist and teacher whose creative spirit knew no bounds. She found joy and expression through painting and sewing. Her artistic works were a reflection of her vibrant personality and served as treasured gifts to family and friends throughout the years.

Donna was preceded in death by her parents, Clayton and Louise Powell.

She is survived by her beloved husband, Lindon Thompson, who was her steadfast companion and partner in life's journey. She was a devoted mother to her children: Leslie Clark, Lisa Clark Thompson (husband, Brad Thompson), David Thompson, and Greg Thompson. Her legacy continues through her cherished grandchildren, Jake Warmink, Case Warmink, Lincoln Thompson, and Hannah Thompson. She is also survived by her brother and sister-in-law, David and Debbie Powell, nieces, Leah Trentley, and Lana Maalouf, and sister-in-law, Jan Hoyer (husband, Dennis).

Donna's life was a beautiful tapestry woven with threads of service, artistry, and love. She will be remembered for her healing hands, her creativity, her sense of humor, and her unwavering devotion to her family. Her memory will live on in the lives she touched as a nurse and educator, and the beauty she created as an artist, and the love she shared as a wife, mother, and grandmother.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to a local arts education program, nursing scholarship fund, or the Alzheimer’s Association, causes that would honor Donna's passions for healthcare and creativity.
