Newalla - Anthony Gene Thompson died April 15, 2023, in Newalla, Oklahoma at the age of 63 years 1 month 2 days. Memorial Services are scheduled for 11:00 AM, Saturday, April 29, 2023, at the Wadley’s Funeral Chapel in Purcell.

Tony was born March 13, 1960, in Elk City, Oklahoma to Rheba Joy Thompson, who later married P.A Clifton, who Tony considered to be his father. He was raised in Oklahoma City, graduating from Grant High School in 1978. Tony continued his education at OSU-OKC, and the University of Central Oklahoma. On July 23, 1988, he married Laura Harrison in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. They made their home in Newalla and celebrated 35 years together. Tony taught for Metro Tech as an Electrical Trade Instructor from 1979 to 2011, at which time he went to work full time as an electrical contractor. Tony enjoyed country western dancing with Laura, which is how they met, as well as going hunting, fishing, and playing golf with his buddies at Trosper Golf Course. He was a true outdoorsman and motorcycle enthusiast. Tony loved spending time with his wife and family and had a special place in his heart for his chocolate lab, Baby.

Tony is preceded by his father, P.A. Clifton in 2010; and his mother, Rheba Joy Clifton in 2021.

Survivors include his wife, Laura Thompson; his son, Jake Thompson and wife, Erin; his son, Zach Thompson and partner, Michelle Morson; his nephew, Justin Ketchum; his close nieces and nephews, John, Cody, Mary, Kait and Terrence; his sister, Cynthia Flynn; his sister, Nova King and husband, Rocky; step-brother, Phillip CLifton and wife, Leona; and numerous other relatives and friends.
