Jeff Allen Thomas

Jeff Allen Thomas
1962 ~ August 22, 2018

Jeff Allen Thomas passed unexpectedly of a stroke on August 22, 2018 in Tulsa Oklahoma at the age of 56.

Allen was born 1962 in Leavenworth, Kansas to Jeff Thomas and JoNell (Smith) Thomas. He has one sister DeAnn Thomas.

After graduating Leavenworth high school in 1980 and DeVry in 1989 he moved to Bartlesville in 1990, where he met his wife Teri (Toni) Tayrien. They have two daughters Amanda Lind (husband Patrick) and JacLynn Thomas.

Allen graduated from OSU in 2007 with a degree in Electrical Engineering. He worked in the oil industry for many years. In 2015 he made a career change to Maccor, working with industrial batteries and testing equipment which was aligned with his personal values of protecting the environment by using renewable resources.

An Aircraft Electrician with the 245th Aviation Battalion, Army National Guard for over 22 years, he received many commendations, and served actively in support of Operation Enduring Freedom after 911. Allen retired honorably in 2007.

In his lifelong search for spiritual growth, Allen travelled many paths. At the time of his death he served on the board of the Bartlesville Unitarian Universalist Church, often attended the Tulsa Unity Church, and served as a healer with the Sukyo Mahikari.

He relaxed by grilling for the family, reading, and watching classic science fiction shows.

A truly devoted father he loved spending time with his daughters biking, walking Pathfinder Parkway, tromping through the woods, chaperoning their high school band trips, but most of all, just hanging out with them.

His quick smile and infectious laughter will be missed by all.

Allen is also survived by his mother in law Marie Tayrien.

Allen's family will receive friends at the Davis Family Funeral Home – Walker Brown Chapel, 918-333-7665, 4201 Nowata Rd, Bartlesville, on Thursday, August 30, from 6-8 p.m. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Music Research Society, 208 4th St., Bartlesville, OK 74003.

Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. on Friday, August 31, at the Davis Family Funeral Home – Walker Brown Chapel. Services are under the direction of Carter Davis and the Davis Family Funeral Home – Walker Brown Chapel. Online condolences and remembrances may be shared at www.DavisFamilyFuneralHome.com.
