Carolyn Sue (Harrod) Thirey


January 16, 1945 ~ March 25, 2026

Carolyn Sue (Harrod) Thirey age 81, of Durant, Oklahoma passed away on Wednesday, March 25, 2026, in Denison, Texas. Carolyn was born on January 16, 1945, in Stephenville, Texas to the late Ruben and Lillian Harrod. Carolyn graduated from High School and was a Restaurant Owner for most of her life until her retirement. Carolyn married David Thirey on August 13, 2013, in Hersey, Michigan and they later moved to Bryan County in 2019, from Harker Heights, Texas. David preceded her in death on March 13, 2024. Carolyn was of the Baptist faith, and she enjoyed going to the casino, watching football, going on cruises, and reading.

Carolyn is preceded in death by her husband David; son Kenneth; brother Robert Wayne; and parents Ruben and Lillian Harrod.

Carolyn is survived by her children Kimberely Woolard and husband Ray of Durant, OK, Corey Clark and wife Racheal of Ward, AR, and Terry Henderson of Lampasas, TX; 13 grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren and many extended family and friends.

Carolyn’s wish was to be cremated and for her sweet family to spread her ashes. A private family celebration will be held at a later date.

Arrangements are under the direction of Brown’s Durant Funeral and Cremation Service.
