Memorial visitation for Sally Rose Thacker, 68, of Marietta was held from 6 until 8 p.m. Monday, December 9, in Flanagan-Watts Funeral Home Chapel, Marietta.
Born February 27, 1951 in Fort Worth, Texas, the daughter of Bill and Mary Jane Tuttle Riley, she died Saturday, November 30, 2019 in Mercy Hospital Ardmore.
Sally graduated from Marietta High School Class of 1969. She continued her education at Midwestern State University, Texas Tech University, Central Texas College and Murray State College and received a bachelor degree. She worked in the healthcare profession as a phlebotomist, then worked for 10 years at Mental Health of Oklahoma, and then worked 14 years before retiring as a drug and alcohol therapist at M.S.A.T.U. She married Johnny Thacker on November 7, 2005, in Gainesville, Texas and he preceded her in death on August 4, 2009. Sally was raised on a cattle ranch and loved horses. She enjoyed coloring, shopping, and being outdoors. Sally loved “bling, bling.” She always had her nails and make-up done to the “T.” She was a member of Alanon for many years. Sally’s greatest love was spending time with her grandkids.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Robby Joe Roseman, and two soul sisters, Linda Kirby and Gale Wickware.
Survivors include a daughter and stepdaughter, Judy Talley and Christy Doe; three stepsons, Richard Thacker, Donnie Thacker, and Juan Alvarez; two sisters, Vicki and Donna; eight grandchildren, Tyler, Clinton, Taylor, Brianna, Cheyenne, Victoria Isabelle Rose Talley, Aurianna Joan Riley Greggs, and Allison Sophia Gale Greggs; and special friends, Karen Sconce, Jennie Lou McGehee, Roger Talley, Roy Wickware, Don Hilton, Chris Woolery, Barbara Hornbeak, and the Staff of Dialysis Ranch.
