Garry Don Templeton was relieved after a long battle with mesothelioma when he was called from this life into the loving arms of Jesus on Saturday, April 12, 2025, at the age of 79. Garry was born in Achille, Oklahoma to Thomas and Oma Templeton on November 14, 1945.
Garry married Sharon Kay Howell in Lone Grove, Oklahoma on June 16, 1967. He had a big heart and loved his family unconditionally. He also was a saved child of God and loved to worship the Lord. Over the years, he was a member of Mt. Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church and Victory Missionary Baptist Church where he actively served in different capacities including head usher, Sunday school teacher, children’s Discovery program on Wednesday nights and helped with the bus ministry.
He will be missed so much by all that knew him. Garry leaves behind beloved family members including, his wife, Sharon Templeton of 57 years; daughter Karen Parthie of Denison, Texas; daughter Dianna Williams and husband Steven of Denison, Texas; Teresa Davis and husband Chris of Bokchito, Oklahoma; grandchildren Travis Clay of Mesquite, Texas, Melanie James and husband Chris of Denison, Texas; Lindsay Clay of Kingston, Oklahoma; Hunter Weddle of Bokchito, Oklahoma; Kaci Carson and husband Chris of Howe, Texas; and Kelton Davis of Colbert, Oklahoma, 13 great grandchildren, several brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Family members who preceded Garry in death are his parents, Thomas and Oma Templeton, brothers James Templeton and Willard Templeton, grandson Tyler Wess Weddle and great granddaughter Emery Ann Sutherland.
