Services for Frances Jo Taylor, 84, of Thackerville were held at 1 p.m., Saturday, November 10 in the First Baptist Church of Thackerville with Rev. John Kinman, Robby Peyrot and Bro. Johnny Reed officiating. Interment was in Cottage Hill Cemetery, near Celina, Texas.

Born May 18, 1928, in Celina, the daughter of Ben and Linda Christian Lankford, she died Thursday, November 8, 2012, at her Thackerville residence.

A homemaker, Mrs. Taylor had been a resident of Love County since 1974, moving here from Irving, Texas. She and Charles “Bill” Taylor were married on September 4, 1944, in McKinney, Texas. Her hobbies included playing games with her family, especially dominoes and cards, and writing poetry. As a member of the Thackerville First Baptist Church, Mrs. Taylor was involved in all activities of the church, particularly the nursery, hospitality and the card ministry. She was also active in the senior citizens group.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, B.R. Lankford; and a sister, Betty Jean Holcomb.

Survivors include her husband, Charles “Bill” Taylor of the home; a son and daughter-in-law, Charles Steven and Jocelyn Taylor of Carrollton, Texas; three daughters and sons-in-law, Connie Lynn and Gordon Mize of Grand Prairie, Texas, Terri and Wayne Clark of Thackerville and Tina and Johnny Reed of Shady Dale; nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers were Jim Langston, Chuck Edwards, Taylor Reed, Johnny Mitcheson, Tim Cannon and Ruben DeLaGarza. Honorary pallbearers were her “game girls.”
