Allen Ernest "Sonny" Taylor, Sr.
March 01, 1945 ~ September 06, 2020

Sonny Taylor was born Allen Ernest Taylor on March 1, 1945 to Curtis and Elizabeth of Minco, Oklahoma. He left this world exactly 6 years to the day September 6, 2020 following his brothers death Tom at the age of 75.

After school, Sonny served in the Army for 4 years. He then moved to Colorado to start a new life. He followed in his brother, Tom’s, footsteps and became a machinist. As a machinist, Sonny built parts for an Apollo Rocket, jets, etc. A job he enjoyed immensely. Later in life, Sonny began a career as a Maintenance Supervisor at Breckenridge Resort in Colorado and ran a small Mustang ranch that brought him many memories and happiness.

In 1990, Sonny took his granddaughter, Tiffany Taylor, to raise. He moved her and himself to Seiling, OK in 2004 where he continued work as a Maintenance Supervisor at Seiling Public School, which is where he remained until he retired. He then moved to Vici to live out his days with his son and daughter-in-law, Allen and Tamara Taylor.

Sonny’s hobbies include hunting, fishing, working horses and giving all his loved ones a hard time.

Sonny is preceded in death by both his parents Curtis and Elizabeth Taylor, his brother, Tom Taylor, his son Allen Taylor Jr., and his niece Jacque Taylor.

He is survived by his daughter, Cheri Eckert, his daughter Tiffany Taylor, his son Justin Taylor, and his daughter-in-law, Tamara Taylor. He is also survived by his nephew and niece, Kevin and Kimberly Taylor of Colorado and Jerry and LaDawna of Texas, as well as too many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren to count. Sonny is also survived by many friends that he proudly considered family.

A memorial service will be held at the Vici Chamber of Commerce Community Center located at 604 Main St., Vici, OK on Sunday, September 20th at 1 pm.
