Steffani Cathlyn Tate

January 29, 1975 ~ December 29, 2007

Steffani Cathlyn Tate was welcomed into the arms of her loving heavenly Father on December 29, 2007. Steffani entered this life on January 29, 1975 as a most precious gift. The youngest of three daughters born to Paul Jr. Tate and Catherine (Listen) Tate. Steffani was a bubbly joyful bundle of blessing from the start, adding such excitement, always admiring her two older sisters and trying to follow in each one's footsteps.

Steffani attended Jones elementary and Jr. High. She left after 8th grade to attend a private school and graduated from Christian Heritage Academy in 1993. She diligently continued her education at UCO receiving a Bachelor of Science degree on Aug. 5th, 1998. As her desire for the medical field continued, she continued her education at the University of Arkansas Little Rock where she received her certification in sonography in December, 2001.

She was immediately employed by Edmond Medical Center where her love for viewing hearts, livers, arteries, babies, and so on gave her the opportunity to touch many people's lives. Her love and concern for every patient made her job a ministry. She spoke much of her love and respect for the physicians and staff with whom she worked.

Steffani was such a precious gift from God to all her family and friends and especially to her niece Destyni and nephew Dakotah to whom she was like a surrogate mother. They spent much time together watching movies, taking walks, having sleepovers, attending ballgames and the like. Steffani loved her family, her gardening, her cats Rocky and Rosie and her beautiful dog Duke (whom she called her 'baby boy'), John Wayne movies and George Strait songs. She loved her nephew Kyle and was so excited to be a part of his 16th birthday and the opportunity to ride in his new X-terra. She had many friends, too numerous to mention, whom she loved dearly, especially her childhood friend, Amy.

Steffani attended the Outreach Prayer Center in Midwest City with a church family she loved dearly. Steffani was always giving her all to make life better for others, especially her family. We'll never forget those beautiful blue eyes and that bright smile, the hand on the hip that personified her spirit of 'true grit'.

Steffani is survived by her mother and best friend, Catherine (Listen) Thrift, dad/step-dad, Mike Thrift, her birth sister, Shandra Fawn (Tate) Oliver, as well as sisters: Paule' (Thrift) Haggerty, Abby (Thrift) Moser, Kate (Thrift) Lindley; one brother, Michael Paul Thrift; grandparents: Vivian and Charles Listen and Agnes Tate. She is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews, nieces and friends. Steffani was the beloved aunt of Destyni Tate-Boggs, Dakotah Tate and Kyle Jackson.

Steffani was preceded in death by her father, Paul Tate, Jr., her sister, Sheli Dawn (Tate) Sapp and her grandfather, Paul Tate.
