Willie P. "Jack" Tarrance

January 15, 1914 ~ February 15, 2006

Funeral services for Willie P. (Jack) Tarrance, 92 of Welling, known as Jack Tarrance, were held 1:00 p.m. Saturday, February 18, 2006, in the Green Country Funeral Home Chapel. Officiating will be Rev. Frank Davis. Serving as pallbearers are Mike Weir, Bennie Taylor, Danny Deckard, Chris Feary, Joe Davis, and Jason Adair. Honorary pallbearers are Ralph Hodge, Ben Taylor, Randall Hodge and Arnold Deckard. Interment followed in the Tahlequah City Cemetery under the care of Green Country Funeral Home.

Mr. Tarrance was born January 15, 1914, the son of A.O. and Ella Tarrance in Peacock, TX. He passed from this life on February 15, 2006, at Tahlequah, OK.

Jack grew up in the Peacock, TX., area before moving to Arizona where he wed Elsie Hodge on January 14, 1939. He entered the United States Army and was honorably discharged. Following his discharge in 1944, he and Elsie relocated to Oklahoma settling in the Indian Day Area, known today as Dry Creek before moving to the Tailholt area of Welling in 1945. He resided there and worked as a cattle rancher until his passing.

Jack served on the F.H.A. Board, was a member of the Cattlemen�s Association, served on the board of the Co-Op, the Farm Bureau Insurance, and many other organizations throughout his life.

He has been preceded in death by his son Jackyie Tarrance; his parents, A.O. and Ella Tarrance; Four brothers, John Walker �Sears� Tarrance, Alvin Tarrance, Fleet Patrick Tarrance, and Charles Tarrance, and three sisters, Lillith Tarrance, Ave Tarrance and Pearl Tarrance.

Jack is survived by his wife of 65 years, Elsie Hodge Tarrance, grandchildren, Jack Tarrance and his wife Kim of Welling, and Tara Tarrance of Welling, and her fianc� Chris Feary; great grandchildren Morgan and Jackson Tarrance; special brother and sister-in-law Ralph and Glenda Hodge; sister-in-law Dixie Tarrance as well as many friends and loved ones.

The family of Jack wish a special thanks to the staff of Grace Living Center and Tahlequah City Hospital.
