Preston Lee Tapp
September 23, 1956 ~ April 15, 2014

Preston Tapp, 57 year old Woodward resident died Tuesday April 15, 2014. Memorial services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, April 19, 2014 at the Crown Heights Baptist Church with Reverend James Steenbergen officiating. A private family burial will be held at a later date.

Preston Lee Tapp was born on September 23, 1956 in Norman, Oklahoma to Reverend Earl and Mary (Curry) Tapp.

He spent most of his early years in Woodward and attended Woodward Schools. He graduated from Woodward High School in 1974. Preston attended Oklahoma State University. He worked as a contractor in the fencing business. Preston had many hobbies which included working on cars, going to the drag races, fishing, singing and playing the guitar. Most of all he loved spending time with his family and friends.

He is survived by one daughter Karen Welk and husband John of Gainesville, Florida; one son Jered Coleman and wife Amanda of Woodward; his mother, Mary Tapp of Woodward; one step-son Christopher Lundry of Woodward; one step-daughter Jessica Knox and husband of Woodward; two sisters Carol Whiteneck and husband James of Ft. Smith, Arkansas, Eva Boston of Woodward; one brother Steve Tapp and wife Debbie of Bradenton, Florida; seven grandchildren Sebastian, Sarah, Lilly, Jadyn, Maddox, McKayla and Connor Preston; other relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by his father Reverend Earl Tapp and a brother-in-law Walter Boston.
