Elizabeth Mae (Stieg) Tagge
December 12, 1921 ~ January 16, 2020

The Memorial services celebrating and honoring the life of Elizabeth (Betty) Tagge, 98, of Enid will be held at 11:00 A.M. February 01, 2020, in the First Baptist Church of Enid with Pastor Kelly Russell officiating. A private family graveside service will precede the memorial service. Services are under the direction of Brown-Cummings Funeral Home.

Elizabeth (Betty) Mae (Stieg) Tagge was born December 12, 1921, in Fargo, North Dakota. Her father, William Stieg, was a disabled veteran of WWI. Her mother, Jessie Rawn was a wonderful, hard-working neighbor girl he had grown up with. Betty Mae was educated in rural eastern Montana schools and graduated in 1943 from Montana State College majoring in dietetics. She served two years as a dietitian in the Army Medical Corps in Arkansas where she met Dr. James Tagge. Jim and Betty were married on July 24, 1947, in St Louis. After two years, they moved to Enid where he started his 40-year medical career. They were members of the First Baptist Church. Betty raised four children and did volunteer work at Bass Hospital, YWCA, Junior Welfare, Medical Auxiliary, PEO, and more. Betty enjoyed family immensely, also wonderful friends, travelling, and playing bridge. She will be remembered for her kindness and quick wit.

Betty is survived by a daughter Carol (and Sam) Adams of Kansas City, MO; son Fred (and Jeanne) of Pass Christian, MS; son Dale (and Lana) of Enid; 8 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son Bruce Tagge, one daughter-in-law, and all four of her sisters and brothers.

Memorials in her name may be made to the First Baptist Church or the Cherokee Strip Regional Heritage Center with Brown-Cummings Funeral Home serving as custodian of the funds.

Condolences to the family may be made online at WWW.Brown-Cummings.com
