Jerome Alphonse "Jerry" Syoen

Jerome Alphonse "Jerry" Syoen
June 24, 1947 ~ December 17, 2021

Jerry Syoen of Enid, OK, passed away in Oklahoma City on Friday, December 17. He was 74 years old.

After growing up in Arlington Heights, IL, Jerry served in the Marine Corps for 3 years, stringing communications lines in Vietnam for 13 months. He later became a moldmaker, a father, an amateur boxer, a golfer, and a relentlessly mediocre poker player. Above all, he was — as many, many people have said — a character: prickly and fiercely independent and totally unique. But he was also smart and sentimental, and he loved — and was loved — deeply. He will be missed.

The family will hold a memorial service in the spring of 2022. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in Jerry's honor to Meals on Wheels, Toys for Tots, a local hospice, or PBS.
