Cynthia Rose “Cindy” (Shingledecker) Sweigart

Cynthia Rose “Cindy” (Shingledecker) Sweigart
July 5, 1950 ~ August 7, 2021

On 7 August 2021 our beloved mother, Cynthia “Cindy” Rose Sweigart of Ponca City, OK, fell asleep in her home surrounded by her children, and peacefully departed this earth to reunite with the love of her life Ron Sweigart and our heavenly father.

A Memorial Service will be held at Central Baptist Church on Tuesday, September 7, 2021, at 10:30 a.m. with Pastor John Waterloo, officiating.

She was born on July 5th, 1950 to Joseph and Dorothy Shingledecker, in Toledo Ohio. In June of 1969 she married Ron Sweigart and went on to birth 3 children and remained happily devoted to him until his passing in December of 2020. Those who knew her will remember her for her warm soul, kind heart, and relentless faith which she kept with her until the end. Affectionately remembered by her grand children and great children as Grandma Baboo, Cindy opened her home early in her marriage to foster several children, giving them a safe and loving place to stay during their transitions to their forever homes. Many will remember her and associate those memories with full bellies. Whether it was home cooked meals, church potlucks, the new church cafeteria where she volunteered as the lunch lady, or the hidden bag of candies in her pew, no human, humming bird, squirrel or other living being went hungry in her presence. Above all, she will be remembered for her unwavering devotion to Jesus Christ whom she lived to serve.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, granddaughter Talia, and daughter-in-law Michelle.

She is survived by daughters Rhonda (Jerry) Arnold, Tammy (Ron) Campbell, son Scott Sweigart, 13 grandchildren, and 20 great grandchildren.

In honor of her faith, we respectfully request that any memorial contributions be made to Central Baptist Church School Academy fund or Central Baptist Church building fund.
