Karen Gayle (Mize) Sullivan
February 10, 1943 ~ June 14, 2021

Karen Gayle Sullivan 78, of Enid, Oklahoma, passed away June 14, 2021, in Oklahoma City, OK.

Karen was born in Sayre, OK, to Ralph and Ida Mize. She was the oldest of three children. She attended Panhandle High School and later Northwest Oklahoma College where she received her nursing degree.

Several years after beginning a nursing career that she was quite passionate about, she met her one true love, Donald Sullivan. Their love has never faltered, and they journeyed through life together for 54 memorable years as loving partners and best friends. They were blessed with two children, David Sullivan and Gayla Sullivan. Gayla later enriched their lives further with their one and only granddaughter Jessica Rivera. The family adored Karen and she will be sorely missed.

She pursued many interests in life. Karen was a skilled seamstress known for making the family's clothes and her granddaughter's costumes for twirling competitions. She enjoyed traveling, cooking, camping, photography, was an avid reader, church member, and faithful servant of the Lord. She especially enjoyed time spent with family and friends. She was a beloved wife, mother, adored grandmother, sister, sister-in-law, cousin, and friend.

Karen was preceded in death by both parents Ralph and Ida Mize.

She is survived by her husband, Don Sullivan; son, David Sullivan (Kelsey Thurman); daughter, Gayla Sullivan (Freddy Rios); granddaughter, Jessica Rivera; brothers, William Mize (Karen Jo), and Ernie Mize (Peggy).

Services will be held at the Garriott Road Church of Christ, 3601 W. Owen K Garriott, Enid, OK, on Monday, June 21st, 2021, at 10:30 a.m. A luncheon will be served after the service.
