James was born Jan. 27, 1926, in Sulphur to Dr. Andrew Hunter M.D. and Dorothy (Harke) Sullivan. James passed away at his home surrounded by his loving family.

He is listed in the Veteran Memorial Garden Park in Shawnee.

Following the war, he returned to Oklahoma and married Billie Jane Bradshaw before moving to Shawnee to attend Oklahoma Baptist University. He graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Business in 1951. James was gifted with a wonderful singing voice. While at OBU he sang with the Varsity Four Quartet.

In 1951 he began a long career at Tinker Air Force Base and retired from Tinker in 1982. James served on the Bison Federal Credit Union board of Directors.

James was an active member and Deacon at First Baptist Church. Over the years he served on many of the committees including the finance committee. He was also an active choir member of the church. He continued singing and leading singing at the local nursing homes.

James is preceded in death by his parents Dr. Andrew Hunter Sullivan, M.D. and Dorothy Harke Sullivan.
