Judy Dolores (Criner) Sturgeon

May 7, 1941 ~ Oct. 5, 2002

Judy Dolores Sturgeon died Saturday, Oct. 5, 2002, at age 61.

Born May 7, 1941, in Kingfisher, Okla., Mrs. Sturgeon was the youngest of 10 children of May and Bob Criner. She attended schools in Esparto and had been a resident of Pinole for the last 30 years.

Mrs. Pinole is survived by her husband, Jim Sturgeon of Pinole; and sons, Billy Biggs and wife Janice, Tommy Sturgeon and wife Tristy, all of De Quincy, La. and Jimmy Sturgeon and wife Farrah of Roseville.

She is also survived by her grandchildren, Jeffrey, Shannon, Billy, Shawna, Samantha, J.D., Taryn, Devon, Blake and Mayzie; and great-grandchildren, Madyson and Matthew.

Also surviving is her brothers, Ralph Criner of Esparto, and Robert Criner of Hendersonville, Tenn.; sisters, Esther Mayes of Kingfisher, Okla., Pauline Averre of Harrisburg, Pa., Rosy Wanshop and Vernia Bahlman of Esparto, Gracie Cobbler of Fort Scott, Kan., Mary Jane Pratt of Fairview, Okla., and Sylvia Myers of Spokane, Wash.; sister-in-law, Kathy Latak and husband Dave of El Sobrante, and Jim's cousin, Larry and Cheryl Dutton of Capay.

Mrs. Sturgeon was preceded in death by her son, Michael Biggs, in September of 2002.

A visitation is scheduled from 6 to 8 p.m. today, Wednesday, Oct. 9, at McNary's Chapel, 458 College St., Woodland.

Friends and family are invited to attend a graveside service at 1 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 10, at Capay Cemetery in Esparto.

The family requests memorials be directed to The Kidney Foundation; or the charity of the donor's choice.

McNary's Chapel of Woodland is assisting the family with arrangements.
