Karla Sue (Curtis) Stroup
October 22, 1952 ~ July 16, 2017

Karla Stroup, 64, of Norman, OK passed away July 16, 2017 after a long battle with cancer. She was born October 22, 1952 in Midwest City, OK to Carl Curtis and Cora Sue Knight Curtis.

She grew up in Midwest City area where she attended MWC high school and then on to OU, receiving a Master’s Degree in Early Childhood Education. After a long career in education, she retired from Rose State College where she was the director of student placement. She enjoyed spending time with friends and family and riding motorcycles with her husband Art.  

She was preceded in death by her grandparents and father, Carl Curtis.

Karla is survived by her husband, Art; mother, Cora Sue Curtis; children, Karlye Cowden, April Klingman, Arthur Stroup Jr and Kyle Derrick; her siblings, Charles Curtis and Tammye Cameron; 6 grand-children and other family. 

 Visitation will be from 12pm- 8pm on Thursday, July20, 2017 at Havenbrook Funeral Home, 3401 Havenbrook St. in Norman. Funeral Service will begin at 11am Friday, July 21, 2017 at Havenbrook Funeral Home and officiated by Dr. Mike Tignor.
