Thurma Jean (Burns) Stone

September 2, 1936 ~ January 18, 2019 (age 82)

Thurma Jean Stone was born on September 2, 1936 in Roger Mills County, Oklahoma to John and Violet Burns. She remained in Roger Mills County until marrying her husband, Charles Keith Stone, on October 22, 1955. After their marriage, Thurma and Keith lived in Junction City, Kansas; Clinton, Oklahoma; and Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, all before moving to Edmond, Oklahoma where they lived for 46 years. Thurma was a homemaker and a caregiver. She spent much of her time caring for her parents, aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.

She is proceeded in death by her parents, her brothers Willard, Dennis and Gerald Burns, and her husband, Charles Keith Stone.

Although they never had children, both Thurma and Keith took on the role of Aunt and Uncle with pride, more like grandparents.

She is survived and will be missed by her nephew Larry Burns of Elk City, OK, niece Shawna Fahrenthold, and husband Barry of Kerrville, TX, niece Megan Storm, and husband Ryan, of Cypress, TX, sisters-in-law, Jane Burns and Joy Burns, 3 great nephews, 2 great nieces, 1 great, great niece, and a host of other relatives and friends.

The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to Baptist Village Assisted Living, Bell Avenue Nursing Center and Comforting Hands Hospice for their exceptional care of Thurma during her time of need.
