Jerry Dewayne Stinson was born October 24, 1953, to the late Benny and Viola (Riley) Stinson. He passed away on Monday, November 4, 2024. He married Debra Loraine Barber Stinson on November 5, 1977.
His three children are Robert Stinson and wife Kimberly of Dickson, Billy and Alicia Stinson of Ardmore, and Verna and Curtis Tappan of Ardmore. In addition, he has several grandchildren, Charlee, Henry and Isaiaha, all of Dickson; Angelica, Ryan, and Kimberlee of Ardmore; Casey Wilson of Lone Grove; Harley, Colton, and Mikey Tappan of Ardmore; and a step granddaughter, Cassie and husband Steven Reece of Ardmore. His great-grandchildren are Jenny and Chase Reece of Ardmore and Liam Wilson and Sahara Lanier, also of Ardmore.
Jerry worked for Marietta Sportswear until 1996 and then Rapistan, which is now Chickasaw Industries, until he retired in 2016. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and fishing and hunting.
His parents, Benny and Viola Stinson, preceded him in death, as did his brothers and sisters, Bill, Gale, Benny, Bet, Dorthy, Verna, and Nancy. Also, he was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Laura Ann, and a sister-in-law, Cheryl.
His honorary bearers are all of the grandchildren and former coworkers at CNI.
