Lucille Catherine "Cathy" (Skeen) Stevens
March 8, 1936 ~ August 28, 2022 (age 86)

Mrs. Lucille Catherine Stevens, of Shawnee, OK, passed away on Sunday, August 28, 2022,
at the age of 86.

“Cathy” was born to parents Moses Skeen IV and Frances Elizabeth Fite Skeen on March 8, 1936, in Pauls Valley, OK.

She grew up as the youngest of six children and attended Shawnee Public Schools. She graduated from Shawnee High School in 1954.

She was a homemaker when her children where young. She was active in the lives of her children and served as homeroom mother, PTA member, and Girl Scout co-leader. In 1977, Cathy pursued a career in real estate. She became a successful broker and opened her own office. She retired from real estate in 1990.

In 1960, she married the love of her life, Robert Curry Stevens. They raised three children.

Cathy was a talented bridge player, crafter, golfer and an accomplished nana. She shared her talents with her husband and children. They had fond memories of their time on the golf course and with their children and grandchildren. She was friendly, always had an easy smile and always accepting of others. She had a positive, can do attitude that she passed on to her children and grandchildren. They also inherited her endearing sass.

Cathy is survived by, her daughters and their husbands, Shelly and Scott Roper, Suzanne and Louis Maltos; her son and his wife, Steve and Terri Stevens; nine grandchildren, Justin, Kaylee and Emma Roper, Louis, Zachary, and Miranda Maltos, and Ashley Stevens Antosh, Brooke Stevens Butcher, and Morgan Stevens Tran; nine great-grandchildren, sister Doris Townsend, and many beloved nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Robert Curry Stevens; parents, Moses and Elizabeth Skeen; sisters; Louise Bockting, Hazel Hagel, and her brothers; Lloyd Skeen, and Chester Skeen.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date in September for friends and family.
