J. W. Steppick
March 23, 1928 ~ Aug. 25, 2015

J.W. Steppick, 87, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 25, 2015, at St. Mary's Regional Medical Center in Enid, Okla. He was born March 23, 1928, in Bailey, Okla., to Clarence and Ethel Fullerton Steppick.

J.W. graduated from Bray High School and went to work for Carter Oil Co. from 1955-1960, Empire Geophysical from 1960-1964, and Failing, where he worked for 22 years, and then retired in 1986.

He married the love of his life, Jearldine Jones in Cox City, Okla., on June 20, 1956, and they lived happily devoted to each other for 59 years.

They moved 15 times between Colorado, Utah, Oklahoma and Wyoming and put down roots in Waukomis, Okla., in 1972.

J.W. is preceded in death by his parents and his daughter, Michelle Poppa.

He is survived by his wife, Jearldine; son, David of Oklahoma City; sister, Deleatha Miller of McKinney, Texas; two grandchildren, Ashlee and Shay; grandson-in-law, Larry; and four great-grandchildren.

Service will be 2 p.m. Monday, Aug. 31, 2015, at McNeil's Funeral Service, Mustang, Okla.
