John Ray Stephens, Jr.
August 8, 1950 ~ December 24, 2011

John Ray Stephens, Jr. was born August 8, 1950 in Pampa, Texas to John Ray and Salla Mae (Gammil) Stephens. He passed away December 24, 2011 at his home in Crescent at the age of 61 years.

John was a member of the Frederick Masonic Lodge #249 AF&AM and was a 32nd Degree Mason. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Crescent. John was retired from the State of Oklahoma, where he worked as a Purchasing Agent for Oklahoma County. He was also very active in The Boy Scouts of America Troop #220 Black Beaver Council in Frederick, OK. He was a history buff and loved taking his grandkids on adventures. He enjoyed reading and doing Crossword puzzles and he loved Oklahoma State Athletics.

Survivors include his wife Peggy of the home; mother, Salla Mae of Celina, TX; 2 sons, Josh Stephens and wife Karla of Pond Creek, OK and Adam Stephens and wife Jennifer of Edmond; daughter, Katie Ramirez and husband Gam of Newcastle, OK; 3 step-sons, Dr. Ted S. Auschwitz and wife Carey of Bartlesville, OK, Todd Auschwitz and wife Jennifer of Shreveport, LA, and Dr. Tyler S. Auschwitz and wife Monica of Memphis, TN; 2 sisters, Kay Fryer and husband Larry of Edmond and Judy Toole and husband John of Celina, TX; 8 grandchildren, Garrett, Ethan, Zach, Drew, Ryder, Lincoln, Tyler, and Natalie; 7 step grandchildren, Max, Jack, Claire, Dyson, Cooper, Caleb, and Kennedy. He was preceded in death by his father, Rev. John Ray Stephens, Sr. and his step-father, L.E. �Blue� Bradshaw.

Funeral services will be 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, December 27, 2011 at the First Baptist Church in Crescent with Rev. Steve Black and Rev. Mike Channel officiating. Services are under the direction of Abernathy Aaron Funeral Home in Crescent. In lieu of flowers the family has requested memorial donations be made to Boy Scouts of America Troop #220 in Frederick, OK.
