James L. Starr

Sept. 5, 1924 ~ Apr. 8, 2006

A funeral service will be held at Mish Funeral Home-Oildale on Wednesday April 12 at 10:00 a.m. for James L. Starr.

James was born in Humphries, Oklahoma in 1924. He was married to wife, Betty for 64 years.

He was employed by the California Department of Water Resources, where he retired after 17 years.

James is survived by his wife, Betty; son, J. R. and wife, Ruby Bayan Starr; daughter, Mary McFarland; son, Rick and wife, Sharon Starr; brothers, Bill and wife, Marleen Starr; Glen and wife, Fern Starr; Doug and wife, Donna Starr, sisters, Naomi Stanford, Laudice Hopkins and husband, Gilbert, Edna Adams, Mary Blalock and Cora Starr. James also leaves behind 7 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren, plus numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Hoffmann Hospice or Kaizer Palliative Care.

Visitation will take place today from 4-8 p.m. at Mish Funeral Home-Oildale.
