Sandra Jean (Edwards) Stansbury

November 1, 1942 ~ May 23, 2026

Sandy Jean (Edwards) Stansbury, 83, passed away on May 23, 2026 in Edmond, Oklahoma.

Sandy was born in Denver, CO on November 1, 1942. Shortly after her family moved to Nebraska where she finished 9th grade to help with the family business. She also worked as a waitress at the family Truck Stop in Bridgeport, NE. she gave birth to a daughter, Faye, at age 16 to whom she lovingly gave up for adoption. Sandy married David Estrada in 1961 and gave birth to Rhonda and Dion Estrada.

In 1971, she divorced and moved to Tucson, AZ and worked as a waitress at Texaco truck stop. She then became a truck driver and moved to Oklahoma and married Bob Stansbury. She drove trucks for 18 years, then retired and moved to Eufaula, OK. She lived there until her husband Bob passed away. Sandy then moved to Stroud and lived there for 16 years. Her son, Dion, moved from Tucson, AZ to take care of her until her passing.

Sandy liked to do diamond paintings and crocheting, playing BINGO and playing cards with friends. She liked western movies and traveling. She loved animals and loved Oklahoma where she lived for 40 years.

Sandy was preceded in death by her mother Augusta Detty and her brother Charles Edwards.

Sandy is survived by her sister Frances Knochelman; her brother Bill Gool; her daughter Faye of Bridgeport, NE; her daughter Rhonda Payton (Estrada) and husband Hank of Tucson, AZ; her son Dion Estrada of Stroud, OK; her grandchildren David DeFrates of Tucson, AZ and Joseph Estrada of Gainesville, FL. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and extended family and friends. She was loved and will be missed very much.
