Donald Leon Stainsby, Dr.
September 9, 1920 ~ February 10, 2016

Memorial Service for Dr. Don Stainsby, age 95, will be at a later date. Cremation arrangements are by Anderson-Burris Funeral Home & Crematory.

Don served in the 60th Troop Carrier Wing, U.S. Air Force during the occupation of Germany and was involved peripherally in Berlin Airlift.

Don attended Montana State Northern University and University of Montana. He graduated from the University of Oregon Medical School, interning at Receiving Hospital, Detroit, Michigan. His residency in neurosurgery was at University of Oregon Medical School. Later, Don attended Northwestern School of Law at Lewis and Clark College in Portland, Oregon.

After retirement, Don enrolled in the US Peace Corp as a volunteer in Malawi, East Africa for two years. Don served as a Peace Corp Physician for one year in the Marshall Islands and one year in Kiev, Ukraine. He then consulted ten years for Walmart in Rogers, Arkansas. Don retired to Enid in August, 2003.
