Jackie "Jack" Edward Stafford passed away peacefully on June 27, 2025, at the age of 72, in Durant, Oklahoma. Born on June 25, 1953, in Coweta, Oklahoma, to Albert Winford and Fern Lucille (Frye) Stafford, Jack grew up in a lively household that laid the foundation for his love of family, work, and the simple joys of life.
Jack's journey through life was marked by his dedication to his family and his passion for the open road. He found his calling as a truck driver, allowing him to combine his love for driving with his sense of responsibility and hard work. Jack enjoyed hunting, taking care of his land by farming and mowing. He even enjoyed a little adventure by mudding on occasion or singing with gusto to the karaoke machine. Weekends were a special time for Jack, as he loved to hit the road driving, whether it be a short or long adventure. He was also known to enjoy being "the boss" when it came to working on vehicles.
Jack's love for his grandchildren was evident as he was affectionately known as “Papa”. He cherished taking them to the feed bin in Caney every Saturday, creating memories that will be treasured forever.
He is survived by his loving wife, Patricia Stafford, with whom he shared almost 34 years, his children including his daughter, Debra Slay, and sons, Dale Stafford, Jaymie Ashworth, and Rusty Miller. Jack's legacy is carried on by his grandchildren, Ruby Stafford, Alexia Stafford, McKenzie Stafford, Raylyn Stafford, Abigail Williamson, Bryson Myatt, and Tazleigh Stafford. He is also survived by his sister, Norma Gillespie, brother, Ricky Stafford, and sister-in-law of the home, Juanita Green, along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Jack was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Fern Stafford, his granddaughter Alicia Stafford, his brothers Jim Stafford, Don Stafford, and Jerry Stafford, and his sisters Barbara Stafford and Charlotte Scroggins.
Family and friends will gather at his Family Hour on Sunday, July 6, 2025, from 3:00-5:00 p.m. at Holmes-Coffey-Murray Funeral Home. A memorial service to honor Jack's life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, July 7, 2025, at Faith Temple with Brother Kevin McClain officiating.
