This message is from the family-
My name is Chris Robertson and I am Becky Springers’ son. On behalf of myself and my two sisters, Amber and Tiffney Springer, we would like to share a few words to commemorate our wonderful Mother.

They say that life is not about the number of breath you take, but the moments that take your breath away. On this day, I am proud to say that my Mother experienced both in her 61 years of existence. She was one of the few people I know who truly had an amazing heart and soul. Our Mother may have been getting progressively ill with chronic COPD and the diagnosis of congestive heart failure a few years ago, but somehow she always made sure that everyone else was taken care of before herself. She did not have much, but what she did have, she would give without a second thought if she believed that it would help someone out. She was the most selfless person I have ever met. My Mother did not always have money or resources when we were growing up, but she always made sure that us kids were well taken care of and did not go without, if she could help it. She loved us. And we love her. She never asked us for anything but our time.

Her most favorite earthly possession would have to have been her 9 grandchildren, of which she helped to raise each and every one of. She loved them from the depths of her soul, and every one of them knew it. She couldn’t go a few seconds, let alone hours without thinking of them and talking about them with whomever would listen. Wondering what they were doing, if they were missing her as much as she was missing them, and most importantly ensuring that they were always safe and happy. She would do anything for them. If you asked her what her best accomplishments were, she would say her grandbabies and her children.

My Mother was a woman of strength and kindness, she was always firm in what she believed in, and it is from her that we have learned to stay strong. But, my Mother was more than just a strong figure, she was full of smiles, hugs, dances, and anything that involved making other happy.

Other things we remember about our Mother: I remember her red hair, her dancing in the kitchen, the smell of her perfume mixed with coffee, and her ability to always make others feel good about themselves, even if she wasn’t feeling well herself. She loved Dr. Pepper and Facebook. She loved that her birthday was on New Year’s Eve, and she loved celebrating it with us every year. Growing up she was at every event, and every field trip from Kindergarten through 12th grade, and always made an effort to make sure she was available for us. She loved to see us smile. All of us.

We will continue to smile because we have all of these memories, but we will be lost without her. I believe that I would suffice to say that having her as our Mother was one of the best things in our lives.

“Our lives will go on without you
But nothing is the same,
We have to hide our heartaches
When someone speaks your name.
Sad are the hearts that love you
Silent the tears that fall,
Living our lives without you
Is the hardest part of all.
You did so many things for us
Your heart was kind and true,
And when we needed to talk to someone
We could always count on you.
The special years will not return
When we were all together,
But with the love within our hearts
You will walk with us forever.”
