Jimmie Ray Sparks

Feb. 21, 1932 ~ Aug. 29, 2003

Born during the Great Depression in Wetumka, Oklahoma. He served his country during the Korean War and was a P.O.W.  returning to the United States in 1955. Upon leaving the service, Jim moved to Bakersfield, California where he finally retired as a truck driver.

Jim is survived by his bride of 48 years. Martina (Eleano) Sparks, his sons, James, Mark, and Patrick Sparks, and daughter Teresa Francis, his grandchildren, Sarah, Christopher, Rose, Shawn, and Victoria, which he had a soft touch, especially, his great grandson, the "Little General," Trenton Gohn whom he adored.

The memorial service will be held Saturday, September 6, 2003, 10:30 a.m. at Faith Church of the Nazarene, 5301 South H. Street, Bakersfield, Calif.
