Wilma Frances (Kerns) Sokoll

September 22, 1925 - August 31, 2011

Wilma Frances Sokoll, longtime resident of Ponca City, passed August 31, 2011 at her home. She was 85 years of age.

Wilma was born September 22, 1925 in Seattle, Washington, the daughter of William F. Kerns and Clara Jensen Kerns. Her early education was received in Washington State. Wilma was married to Mike John Sokoll on October 24, 1980 in Long Meadow, Massachusetts. She was a longtime custodian for the U.S. Post Office in Ponca City, retiring in the mid 1980s. 

She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church and the 101 Ranch Oldtimers where she had once held the office of secretary. Her enjoyments were handicrafts and quilting.

She is survived by her five children, twins, Douglas Sokoll of Springfield, Massachusetts and Dwight Sokoll of Corpus Christi, Texas, Christine SokollPervere, Leander, Texas, Rose Shumaker, Marian Illinois and Michael Sokoll of Ponca City six grandchildren, Becky Sokoll, Shane Sokoll, Rene Sokoll, Anthony Sokoll, Jessie Sokoll and Matthew Shumaker great grandchildren, Landon Harris, Brooklyn Harris, Sophia Sokoll and Daniel Sokoll.

She was preceded in death by her parents husband two brothers, Elmer and Melvin Kerns.

A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Friday, September 9, 2011 at Grace Memorial Chapel with First Presbyterian Pastor, Mary Wright, presiding.
