John Lesley Snyder, a beloved father, son, brother, and
friend, passed away on May 12, 2026, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Born on September
5, 1957, in Salina, Kansas, John lived a life full of meaning and joy,
touching the hearts of many with his kind spirit and generous nature.
John worked as a dry waller, a profession that reflected his dedication and skill, but those who knew him well understood that his true passion lay in his commitment to helping others. He made an indelible difference through his efforts with Narcotics Anonymous and Alcoholics Anonymous, providing support and hope to countless individuals struggling to find their way. His selflessness and dedication touched many lives, leaving a legacy of compassion and healing.
Outside of his work and community service, John loved life with a full heart. Cooking for people brought him immense joy, as did making others laugh — his warm sense of humor could brighten any room. These simple pleasures defined his approach to living: embracing joy and spreading happiness wherever he went.
John was born into a family that was at the core of his world. He is survived by his daughter Regina and Wesley Smith, his son John Wesley Snyder, and his mother Alice Snyder. He also leaves behind cherished siblings: Jeannie, Beth, and Billy. His extended family includes several beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren, along with stepchildren Ricky Winton, Dena Winton, Randy Winton, and Dianna Miller. John’s circle of loved ones was further enriched by nieces, nephews, and cousins, all of whom will carry forward his memory.
He was preceded in death by his father, John Devere Snyder, granddaughter Nikki Winton, grandson Kyle Bunch and girlfriend Dawn Kester. Their presence is deeply missed, yet their memories remain close to the hearts of family and friends.
A memorial service to honor John’s life will be held on May 28, 2026, from 4:30 PM at Sageeyah Baptist Church, located at 16522 OK-88, Claremore, OK 74017. This gathering will be a time for all who knew John to come together and celebrate the remarkable impact he had on their lives.
John Lesley Snyder’s journey through this world was marked by love, laughter, and a heartfelt commitment to the welfare of others. His legacy is one of kindness and resilience, and though he is no longer with us, the light he brought to so many will continue to shine in the hearts of all who were fortunate to know him.
