Roy Edward Smoot

Dec. 29, 1909 ~ Jan. 24, 2002

BOISE CITY, Okla. - Roy Edward Smoot, 92, died Thursday, Jan. 24, 2002.

Memorial services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in the chapel of Cimarron Mortuary of Boise City.

Mr. Smoot was born Dec. 29, 1909, outside of Laverne, Okla. He married Betty Ragan in October 1943.

Survivors include two sons, Larry Smoot of Albuquerque, N.M., and Stanley Smoot of Boise City; five sisters, Velma Truitt of Elkhart, Kan., Thelma Shepherd of Woodward, Sarah Osch of Yukon, Martha Kraft of Vandalia, Mo., and Lahoma Freeman of San Antonio, Texas; three grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

The family suggests memorials be to High Plains Children's Home in care of Cimarron Mortuary.
