Timothy Lee Smith

Timothy Lee Smith, 75, of Kingston, Oklahoma, passed away on Sunday, May 3, 2026, in Durant.

Tim was born on September 20, 1950, in East Chicago, Indiana, to the late Glenn Edwin Smith and Iva Mae (Hazen) Smith. He was raised in Hammond, Indiana, where he graduated from high school before continuing his education at Tennessee Temple University and later at Louisiana Baptist University, where he earned his Master of Divinity.

On August 15, 1970, Tim married the love of his life, Becky Jan Hyles, in Hammond, Indiana. Together they built a life centered on faith, family, and service. Tim spent the majority of his career as a dedicated school administrator, impacting countless students and educators throughout the years.

In 1979, Tim and Becky made their home in Plano, Texas, where they lived for over four decades. In 2020, they relocated to Kingston, Oklahoma, where they spent their later years.

Tim was a man of strong Baptist faith and a devoted follower of Christ. In his free time, he enjoyed collecting baseball cards and sports memorabilia and was a lifelong fan of the Chicago White Sox.

He will be remembered for his steady leadership, his love for his family, and his passion for the things he enjoyed most.

He is survived by his loving wife, Becky Jan Smith of Durant; daughters, Trina Beebe and husband Steve of Kingston, and Teresa Joy Horton and husband Jon of Malvern, Arkansas; and son, Trent Jonathan Smith and wife Mitzi of Spicewood, Texas. He is also survived by nine grandchildren, Bethany Hayes, Bradley Beebe, Anthony Horton, Ashley Horton, AJ Horton, Andrew Horton, Mia Smith, Ella Smith, and Rowan Smith; three great-grandchildren, Jensen, Stevie, and Jackson; and his brother, Thomas Charles Smith and wife Liz of Arvada, Colorado.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Terry David Smith
