Raymond D. Smith
June 1, 1939 ~ June 5, 2023

Raymond D. Smith (PaDarlin) passed away on June 5, 2023, at the age of 84. He was born to Arthur W. Smith and Hazel L. Clifton on June 1, 1939, in Dos Palos, California.

Raymond graduated from Bartlesville College High School in 1961. After graduating, he married Linda Rayl and had two children, Kim and Terry. He worked for many companies including IGA, United Linen, and Five Star Equipment. He retired from Reda Pump in 1999. On November 24, 1982, Raymond married Serena Lee Leard. He was one of just a few fast pitch softball umpires inducted into the Oklahoma ASA Hall of Fame and was a member of Fraternal Order of Eagles. He was an avid OU Sooner fan and loved the Dallas Cowboys. He enjoyed playing cards, golfing, and riding motorcycles.

Raymond was preceded in death by his mother, Hazel Smith; father, Arthur Smith; and brother, Norman Smith.

Raymond is survived by his wife, Serena Smith; daughters, Kim and husband Scott and Rondi and husband Chris; son, Terry and wife Josie; sister, Maxine Sanders and husband Bud; numerous, grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews; and hundreds of friends.

Raymond’s funeral will be held on Friday, June 9, at 1:00 PM at Ochelata Baptist Church.
