Jerry Michael Smith was born on April 18, 1945, to Keith Smith and Maxine Parker Smith. He went to heaven on January 2, 2025.
Jerry married the love of his life, Dena Michele Britton, on April 24, 1981, and together they had 3 sons, Michael Jason, James Wesley and Travis Aaron.
Jerry loved the simple pleasures in life. Always a nature lover, he spent hours on the back porch. It didn’t matter if it was the middle of summer, he was always sipping on a cup of coffee.
He always looked forward to our road trips. He loved visiting small towns and a casino or two along the way.
Every weekend he enjoyed James coming over and watching football or baseball and grilling.
He always looked forward to Kaden and Hadley coming over. They brought him so much joy. He was happy watching Kaden grow into a handsome young man. He loved it when Hadley would come over and bake peanut butter cookies.
He was a good man who loved his family completely. The last year was hard on him with health problems and so he spent a lot of his time making sure we were as prepared as possible for a life without him. I hope he knows that he prepared us well but life without him will never be the same. But, we know he is rejoicing in heaven with Jason and Travis, who he has missed so much. We will truly miss him, always love him and will keep him in our hearts forever.
He is survived by his wife of 43 years Dena, son James Smith, grandchildren Kaden James Smith and Hadley Aaryn Smith, sisters Beverly Allen and husband Wayne and Brenda Goodwin, sister-In-Law Melodee Taber and husband Thomas, brothers-In-Law Jax Britton and wife Debbie, Phillip Britton and wife Stephani and Michael Britton, sisters-In-Law Shelley McClure and husband Steven and Danielle Edwards and husband Mark, many cousins, nieces and nephews
He was preceded in death by his mother Maxine Parker Bitting, brother Roger Smith, and sons Michael Jason Smith and Travis Aaron Smith
