David Roe Smith

March 28, 1959 ~ April 18, 2019

David Roe Smith, 60, of Shawnee, Oklahoma passed away, Thursday, April 18, 2019, in Bentonville, Arkansas. He was born March 28, 1959, in Denison, Iowa, to Darwin R. Smith and Eva Mae Reschke Smith.

He was a 1977 graduate of Rogers High School and attended the University of Arkansas.

He retired from Walmart after 28 years of service managing Walmart Stores in Oklahoma.

David enjoyed watching sports, especially the Razorbacks, growing things and tending to his yard. He was a well-known “computer wiz” and loved understanding the latest computer gadgets and equipment.

He was preceded in death by his father and one sister, Nancy Smith Townsend.

David is survived by his three children, whom he loved dearly, Stephen Craig Smith and wife, Maggie of Edmond, Oklahoma, David Cole Smith of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Caitlin Giltner Smith of Oklahoma City; his mother, Eva Mae Smith of Rogers; his brother, Tim Smith and wife, Misty of Rogers; his sister, Sherry Pangle and husband, Warren of Bentonville; brother-in-law, James Townsend, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m., Monday, April 22, at Stockdale-Moody Funeral Services in Rogers.

Private services will be held.

Memorials may be made in memory of David Smith to the American Cancer Society, 1599 Clifton Road, NE, Atlanta, GA, 30329 or to Circle of Life Hospice, 1201 NE Legacy Parkway, Bentonville, AR 72712.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Stockdale-Moody Funeral Services in Rogers. Words of comfort may be expressed at stockdale-moodyfs.com.
