Donna Fay Smith, 80 year old Mooreland resident, earned her angel wings on January 5, 2021. A celebration of life will be live streamed only at 2:00 pm Monday in the Mooreland First United Methodist Church. To view the service go to www.billingsfuneralhomewoodward.com and click on Donnas obituary.

Donna Fay, daughter of Carrie (French) and Horace Wilson was born on April 9, 1940 in Freedom, Oklahoma. Donnas daddy passed away when she was five years old. Hubert Knittel married Carrie and was a loving stepfather to Donna Fay and her four brothers. Donna and her brothers were blessed with a little sister, Linda.

Donna attended Freedom and Mooreland schools, and finished high school in Amarillo, Texas. She then attended beauty college, earning her Cosmetology License.

Donna married the love of her life Charles Dean (Chick) Smith on October 26, 1958 in Mooreland, Oklahoma in the Mooreland First Christian Church. They were blessed with two children, Fonda and JD (Buster). Following their marriage they lived in Lawton, Oklahoma while Chick served in the Army. In 1961 they moved to Mooreland where they made their family home, raising their children and influencing so many lives. Donna owned and operated Donnas Beauty Shop for 24 years and ran Mistletoe Express for many years. In 1985 they moved to Elk City for Chicks career where Donna continued her career as a cosmetologist. They returned to Mooreland to retire 1995.

Donna stayed active by working part time at Hopkins Shoe Mart, substitute teaching, and serving the community she loved so much.

Donna was an active member of the Mooreland First United Methodist Church, serving as funeral dinner coordinator, member of the United Methodist Women, Worship Chairman, and taught bible school. She was a charter member of Town and Country Federated Womens Club, and a member of the Red Hat Society.

Donna is survived by her husband Charles Dean (Chick) Smith of the home; daughter, Fonda Gentry and husband Keith of Edmond; son, JD (Buster) Smith of Longview, Texas; three grandchildren and their families, Brooke Granger and her children, Beau; Dax; and Duke; Zach Gentry and his wife Kelley; their children, Crew; and Isla; Hope Kastelic and husband Derek, their children, Abe; and Elliette; sister, Linda Elwood and husband Keith of Edmond; several nieces, nephews, other family and many many friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, four bothers, Dean, Jim, Jack, and Harold Wilson, step siblings, Bill, Johnny, Joy, Betty and Sue Knittel.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Mooreland First United Methodist Church with the funeral home accepting the contributions.
