Danny Edward Smith

Danny Edward Smith
December 26, 1952 ~ October 15, 2023

Danny Edward Smith was born December 26, 1952, in Bartlesville, Oklahoma to William Harvey Smith and Mary Ellen (Seybert) Smith. Danny spent the days of his youth engaging in innocent childhood shenanigans and occasionally a little trouble. He graduated from Col-Hi in 1971. He apprenticed to be a mason and spent all his life working in masonry and odd handyman jobs.

Danny always did life his way. Faith in his Lord Jesus was central to his life choices. He walked the four corners of the continental United States spreading the Good News of Jesus Christ and whole-heartedly believed he was called to do so.

Football season was all about his beloved Sooners. He celebrated their wins and grieved their losses.

He spent his last several years living a simple life on his houseboat, Treading Water, in Port Isabel, Texas, and South Padre Island, with a community of close friends. He was healed and made whole when he entered heaven October 15, 2023 after a sudden and brief illness.

Danny was preceded in death by his father, William Harvey Smith and mother, Mary Ellen (Seybert) Smith.

Survivors include his sons Will (Bev) Smith, Casey (Julie) Smith, his daughter Erika Smith; his grandchildren Abby, Jacob, Gabe, Stephen, Barrett, Ellie, Judah, and Emery Smith; and his siblings Diana (George) Snyder, Tom Smith, and Pamela Sue Smith.

Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday, October 17, 2023, from 11 am - 1 pm, within the Darling-Mouser Funeral Home Stateroom in Brownsville, TX.

A Memorial Service will be held in Oklahoma at a later time and date to be determined.
