Memorial services for Curtis Kent Smith, 44, of Yukon, OK, will be held at 1:00 PM, Monday, September 4, 2017 at Smith Memorial Chapel with Scotty Morris officiating. Services are under the direction of Smith-Gallo Funeral Home, Guthrie.
Curtis passed away, peacefully, on Friday August 25th in the arms of his husband, Brad Smith, and dear friend, Leia Sigler. Curtis was born on February 7th, 1973 in Oklahoma City, OK, to Douglas Kent Smith and Shirley (Chandler) Anderson.
Curtis lived in Guthrie, OK, during his childhood years, and then moved to Yukon, where he graduated in 1991. He received a business degree, but soon after, he decided being stuck behind a desk was not the job for him. Curtis had so much spirit, love, and energy, he chose to get his barber license and loved making people beautiful and fabulous. He also loved getting to know and care for everyone who sat in his seat.
Curtis married the love of his life, Brad (Johnson) Smith on August 19th, at their house that they purchased last year, surrounded by family and loved ones.
Curtis is survived by his husband, Brad Smith; his daughter, Kirra Horner; Step Father: Lindsey Anderson; Brother and wife: Scott and Susan Smith; Nephew: Baden Smith; Sister and husband: Katresa and Joel Montejano; Niece: Lilly Monejano; Brother and wife: Cory and Jennifer Taylor; Grandparents: Hoppy and Lela Chandler; Aunts and Uncles: David Chandler, Shirley Smith, Mary Lou Smith, Jackie Smith, Vickie and Dennis Biggs; Cousins: Don, Marilyn, Sheli, and Hannah Gayer; Extended family: Leia Sigler, Scotty Morris, Mikey Santos, Vanessa Sigler, Charity Forman, Morgan Forman, Hannah Forman and Cami Forman; Dear friends: Vanessa and Mazie Hammer, Stacy Guthrie, Nancy Christian, Brandy Coker, Jason Eddy, Abe Wall, Duckie Ngo, Rheannon Gregor, Zach Johnson, Chase Scott, Blake and Sheena Kelley, Paul Batey, Martin Blecha, Milton Davis, Randy Herring, Kristen Clifton, Cherie Young-Huntley, Erin May, James Moore, Floyd Martin (and many more);
Curtis is preceded in death by his mother, Shirley (Chandler) Anderson; Father: Douglas Kent Smith; Grandparents: Jack and Beulah Imogene Smith; Aunts and Uncles: Bill Smith, Curt Smith, and Janice Smith; First Love: Amy (Brooks) Watkins; Dogs: Prissy and Scarlet.
