Services for Bruce T. Smith, 70, of Golinda, Texas, were Thursday at 10:30 a.m. in the Golinda Baptist Church with Rev. Mike Seay officiating.
Mr. Smith was born September 25, 1924, in Appomattox, Virginia, and died December 5, 1994, in a Waco, Texas, hospital.
He operated the Weston Biscuit Company in Waco, Grandma’s Bakery in San Antonio, Texas, Sunbeam Bakery in Abilene, Texas, and retired from Marietta’s Bakery in Marietta in 1990 as president and general manager. Mr. Smith was a member of the Golinda Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Monta Rae Smith of the home in Golinda; two sons, Richard Smith of Golinda and Steven Smith of Marietta; a sister and brother-in-law, Winnie Ruth and E.J. Johnson of Bristol, Virginia; five brothers, John Smith, C.G. Smith, Ralph Smith, Jack Smith and Richard Smith, all of Virginia; and four grandchildren, Brooke, Lindsay, Tyler and Collin Smith.
Interment was in the Chilton Cemetery under the direction of Connally/Compton Funeral Directors, Waco.
