Alice Mae (Hamman) Smith

March 23, 1915 ~ October 26, 2003

Graveside services will be held at Hillcrest Memorial Park, 9101 Kern Canyon Road, on Saturday, November 1, 2003, at 11 a.m. for Alice Mae Smith, 88, of Palmdale, CA. Alice was born on March 23, 1915, in Krebs, Oklahoma, and went home to be with the Lord on October 26, 2003.

Alice worked in the restaurant business, retiring after 22 years from the cafeteria in the Greyhound Bus Station. She was a beloved aunt to twenty nieces, nephews and numerous great nieces and nephews. She was a long time member of Valley Baptist Church before moving to Palmdale to live six years ago. We know that she must be having a grand reunion in Heaven with her baby, Margaret Jane; her parents, John and Lucy Hamman; sisters, Donna Stephenson and Ollie Manning; brothers, Bud, Doyle, Bill and John Hamman; nephew, Butch Hamman; and niece, Emily Hamman. She is survived by sisters-in-law, Taeko, Neva, and Zenda Hamman; and her nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Friday, October 31, 2003, from 3 to 7 p.m. At her request, pallbearers will be her nephews, Larry Chaffin, Bob Kelley, Brent Hamman, Randy and Don Hamman, John and Ron Hamman and Robert Manning. Special thanks to her niece, Linda and her husband Larry for providing her a loving home in her final years, and for always being there for her.
