Sharold Kay (Fitzgerald) Smethers

Sharold Kay Smethers, 71, of Bartlesville, died at 12:10 P.M. on Sunday, July 11, 2021 at the St. John Medical Center in Tulsa.

Funeral services will be held at 10 A.M., on Wednesday, July 14, 2021 in the Stumpff Funeral Home Chapel with Jeff Schwickerath of the Miracle of Faith in Broken Arrow officiating. Graveside services will be held at 1 P.M. on Wednesday at the Mount Hope Cemetery in Independence, Kansas directed by the Stumpff Funeral Home & Crematory.

Sharold was born at Erie, Kansas on May 3, 1950 the daughter of Harold Dean Fitzgerald and Edna Jean (Audiss) Fitzgerald. She grew up and received her education in the Erie, Kansas area. She had been employed at Cessna Aircraft at Independence, Kansas for 10 years prior to her retirement. She was married to Stephen Wayne Smethers on September 3, 2009 at Eureka Springs, Arkansas. They made their home in Bartlesville, Dewey and also at Sherman, Texas and they returned to Bartlesville to make their home several years ago.

Sharold is survived by her husband, Steve Smethers of the home in Bartlesville, two daughters, LaRonna Bollig and husband Bob of Independence, Kansas and Cris Crippen and husband Kent of Gainesville, Florida, one brother, Mark Fitzgerald of Parsons, Kansas, five grandchildren, Josh Bollig, Derek Meier, Kelsie Meier, Kaylee Bollig and Ben Crippen, and four great grandchildren, Paul, Aydan, Sadie and Kyle. Sharold was preceded in death by her parents.
