James Kleven Slover

Sept. 10, 1949 ~ Jan 15, 2002

James Kleven Slover died Tuesday, Jan 15, 2002, at age 52. Born on Sept. 10, 1949, in Bartlesville, Okla., to Doris and JW Slover, Mr. Slover was raised in the Texas Panhandle. He was a 10-year resident of Pine Tree Gardens and had many friends and affiliations in Davis.

He was an Eagle scout and was awarded the highest scouting honors in the Order of the Arrow. He attended UC San Diego and served in the Peace Corps in Mali, Africa.

Mr. Slover is survived by his sisters; Susan Slover and husband Michael of Woodland, Anita Trieweiler and husband Patrick of Merced, and Betsy Coonfield and husband Jim of Oklahoma City. He is also survived by his brother John Slover of Oakley.

He is also survived by nieces Megan Murphy, Katie and Maggie Trieweiler and nephews, JD Slover-Murphy and Matthew Trieweiler.

Mr. Slover was surrounded with "loving care from his family of Pine Tree residents and staff and the mental health community of Davis" at the time of his death, according to family members.

A private burial is scheduled at Monument Park in Woodland. A celebration of life is scheduled for 2 p.m., Tuesday, Jan, 22, at the Unitarian Church, 27074 Patwin Road, off Russell Boulevard in Davis.
