Jacob Maxwell “Jake” Simpson

Jacob Maxwell “Jake” Simpson
December 8, 2006 ~ May 1, 2026

Jacob “Jake” Simpson, 19, of Dewey, Oklahoma, passed away on May 1, 2026.

Jake was born on December 8, 2006, to Ronda Carithers and Greg Adkisson. He graduated from Dewey High School in 2025 and, soon after, answered the call to serve his country. He completed basic training and Advanced Individual Training (AIT), graduating with honors—a reflection of his dedication, discipline, and strong character.

Jake was a proud member of the National Guard and an active participant in FFA. Through FFA, he built lasting friendships and developed a deep appreciation for leadership, agriculture, and community. He also created a podcast, “I Believe TV,” as a way to educate others about the many opportunities and values found within FFA—an effort that reflected both his initiative and his desire to uplift others.

In addition to his service and school involvement, Jake worked at the Boys & Girls Club in Dewey, where he found great joy in mentoring the students he connected with. He had a natural ability to guide and encourage young people, and he took pride in being someone they could look up to.

Jake’s faith was an important part of his life. He had a deep love for God that guided his actions and the way he treated others—with kindness, compassion, and humility. His faith was evident not only in what he believed, but in how he lived each day and cared for those around him.

Preceding Jake in death are his mother, Ronda Carithers, and his grandmothers, Saundra Adkisson, Venna White and Kimmberly McMahan. He is survived by his brothers, Nicholas Carithers, William White and Isaiah Forister, as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, and foster families who loved him deeply.

Known for his kind heart and passion for helping others, Jake had a way of connecting with everyone he met. His genuine spirit, loyalty, and willingness to show up for others left a lasting impression on friends, family, and his community. Though his time was short, his impact was meaningful and will not be forgotten.

Jake had been looking forward to attending Oklahoma State University this fall, where he planned to pursue his goal of becoming an agricultural education teacher and building a bright future.

He will be remembered for his warm smile, kind spirit, and the love he had for his family, friends, and community. In his friendships and everyday moments, Jake made a difference in ways that will continue to be felt.

Jacob is deeply loved and will be forever missed by all who knew him.

If you have an FFA jacket, please wear it in honor of Jake.

A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, May 9th at the Dewey High School Auditorium. Services are under the direction of Carter Davis and the Davis Family Funeral Home - Dewey Chapel. Online condolences and remembrances may be shared at www.DavisFamilyFuneralHome.com
