Raymond Eugene Simons
March 8, 1933 ~ January 31, 2025

Raymond E. Simons of Newkirk, Oklahoma, passed away Friday, January 31, 2025. in Via Christi Village in Ponca City at the age of 91 years.

Raymond Eugene Simons was born on March 8, 1933, in rural Kay County to Rudolph and Grace (Burgett) Simons. He grew up in Kay County graduating from Braman High School in 1951.and later served in the United States Army. He married Kathleen Kokendoffer on March 6, 1953, in Braman. He attended the University of Oklahoma College of Pharmacy and graduated in 1959. He worked for Hutton Pharmacy from 1959-1962 when he opened Simons Pharmacy in Newkirk. He owned and operated the drug store until his retirement in 1995.

He enjoyed raising catfish and fishing, playing golf and operating a black angus farm.

He is survived by his wife, Kathleen from Ponca City; a daughter, Rene Vap and husband David of Ponca City; a son, Stuart Simons and wife Tresa from Collinsville; two sisters, Winifred Peetoom of Duncan and Lora Ann Hudson of Eakly. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Following cremation, no services are currently planned.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Hospice of North Central Oklahoma, 445 Fairview Avenue, Ponca City, Oklahoma 74601
