Gary Lee “Butch” Simmons, II was born August 11, 1968 in Norman to Gary Simmons, I and Beverley (Carter) Simmons. He passed away January 10, 2024 in his home in Wellston at the age of 55.

Butch grew up in Okmulgee and Oklahoma City. He proudly served his country in the United States Army. Butch was a truck driver who loved being on the road traveling from coast to coast for nearly 30 years. He enjoyed hunting and racing motorcycles and cars. Butch loved his daughters and grandbabies.

Butch is survived by his wife of 15 years, LeWanda (Mattingly) of the home; daughters, Josie Simmons, Sydney Simmons both of Wellston; parents, Gary and Beverley Simmons of Wellston; (2) grandchildren, Aurora, Dorian; brother, Brent Simmons and his wife Michelle of Piedmont; step-children, Amber Garcia, Leanna Ervin, Jessie Detamore along with a bunch of step-grandchildren, other family and friends.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm Friday, January 19, 2024 at the Trinity Baptist Church of Wellston.
